On October 14, 2024, the Department of Trade Remedies (DTR) received information that on October 10, 2024, the Malaysian Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) issued a notice initiating an anti-dumping investigation on steel wire rods originating or imported from China, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Some information about the case is as follows:

On 24 September 2024, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission (ADC) under the Australian Department of Industry, Science and Resources issued a notice initiating anti-dumping (AD) conditions on hot-rolled steel bars (hot-rolled deformed steel reinforcing bar in lengths) imported⁄from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam.

On September 25, 2024, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) officially initiated an anti-dumping (AD) and anti-subsidy investigation into corrosion-resistant steel (CORE steel) imported from Vietnam.
