China says U.S. abuses trade measures in steel case

BEIJING (Reuters) - The United States has misapplied its own rules by taking action against imports from China, including the newest duties against Chinese steel pipes used in transporting corrosive liquids and gas, China's Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.

The DOC has calculated a final weighted-average dumping margin of zero (0.00) percent for producer, Hunan Valin Xiangtan Iron&Steel Co., Ltd. This compares with the company's current dumping duty deposit rate of the China-wide rate, which is 128.59 percent.

It appears there is no end in sight for the ongoing conflicts involving two key players in the local cement trade, with competition watchdog, the Fair Trading Commission (FTC), confirming this week that major importer of the product, Tank-Weld Metals Limited, has lodged a complaint against Caribbean Cement Company Limited (CCCL), alleging misleading advertising on the part of the Rockfort, Kingston-based producer.
