Argentina initiates AD investigation on imports of electric motors

On March 4, 2011, the Government of Argentina - by means of Resolution No. 38/2011 of the Secretariat of Industry and Trade – has initiated a dumping investigation on imports of AC electric motors, asynchronous, single phase with a power higher or equal to 0.12 KW but of less than 3 KW and with a weight ranging between 4 and 45 kilograms (dispatched under N.C.M. 8501.40.19) from the People’s Republic of China.

US cuts dumping duty on shrimp 40%

Anti-dumping duty on shrimp exports to the US reduced by 40% with the US department of commerce (USDOC) reducing the effective duty for India to 1.6% from the earlier 2.67%. This relief comes after the seafood sector suffered successive setbacks last year when the US agency increased the anti-dumping duty by a whopping 300% and decided on extending the anti-dumping duty for another five years.

China Faces Five-Year European Union Tariffs on Glass Fibers

The European Union imposed five-year tariffs on glass fibers from China to help EU manufacturers including a French unit of Owens Corning (OC) Inc. and a Dutch subsidiary of PPG Industries Inc. (PPG) counter cheaper imports.
