Mexico: Initiation of antidumping investigation on monobutyl ethers of ethylene glycol or of diethylene glycol.

On March 11, 2011, the Government of Mexico initiated an antidumping investigation on monobutyl ethers of ethylene glycol or of diethylene glycol from the United States of America.
This investigation was requested by Polioles, S.A. de C.V. This Mexican enterprise accounts for 100% of Mexico's production of this type of chemical.
The product subject to investigation is classified under the following item of Mexico's Harmonized System: 2909.43.01.
In accordance with the Mexican legislation, 90 days after the initiation of the investigation the authorities must issue a preliminary determination: (a) adopting preliminary antidumping duties, (b) announcing the continuance of the investigation without imposing preliminary duties or (c) concluding the investigation due to lack of evidence.
In all cases, 210 days after the initiation of the procedures the Mexican authorities must issue a final determination. Through this decision, the Government will announce if this kind of products from the U.S. will face final antidumping duties.
