Practices of Safeguard investigation by the Philippines

In comparison with other trade remedy measures, safeguard is also a measure that is used quite a lot in the Philippines. By the end of 2022, this country initiated a total of 20 safeguard investigations (accounting for 49% of the total number of trade remedy investigations initiated by the Philippines) and decided to impose duties on 10 cases.

Sectors subject to the most safeguard measures by the Philippines
Articles of stone, plaster; ceramic prod; glass are subject to the most safeguard measures applied by the Philippines with 5 cases (accounting for 50%); Paper, paperboard and articles are the 2nd most subject to safeguard measures (accounting for 20%).
