Overview of Trade Remedies investigation by Canada

Canada is one of the top users of trade remedial measures. Products exported to Canada that are often subject to trade remedies to protect the domestic industry include metals, machinery, vegetables, etc. Countries/territories involved in alleged trade distortive practices in their exports to Canada include China, Korea, Chinese Taipei and the United States.
Canada initiated a total of 362 trade remedy investigations from January 1, 1995, to December 31, 2022, including 279 Anti-Dumping investigations, 79 Anti-subsidy investigations and 4 Safeguard investigations. Of the investigations initiated, Canada has officially imposed 189 Anti-Dumping Measures, 42 Anti-Dumping Measures and 1 Safeguard Measure.
