US hits China receipt paper with more duties

WASHINGTON: The United States will impose a second layer of duties, ranging up to 133 per cent, on Chinese-made paper used to print credit card and automatic teller receipts, the US Commerce Department said on Wednesday in a preliminary decision.

Bloomberg reported tat European Union has threatened to tax wire rod from China, Turkey and Moldova to help EU producers compete against cheaper imports, opening the fourth probe that targets Chinese steel in five months. The probe covers EUR 1.2 billion of imports of wire rods.
