India: Power loom sector in trouble, as yarn prices go up by 30%

SURAT: All is not well with the power loom sector in the country's biggest man-made fabric hub in Surat. It has become difficult for the weavers operating 6.5 lakh power loom machines in the city as the prices of all types of polyester yarn - basic raw material for the sector - have gone up by 30 per cent in the past six months.

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 12, 2011) - The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced today that it is initiating investigations into the alleged injurious dumping and subsidizing of certain pup joints originating in or exported from the People's Republic of China. Pup joints are oil country tubular goods made of carbon or alloy steel.
