The Coalition for American Solar Manufacturing, led by the largest US crystalline silicon solar cell and panel producer US SolarWorld Industries America, has responded to statements made by China's Ministry of Commerce regarding the anti-dumping petitions filed by SolarWorld against China's allegedly illegal trade practices.

In a recently-issued statement by the coalition, the group lays out claims that China supports dumping in the industry.

In the statement the coalition says, "China's predatory and illegal aggression is crippling the US industry. CASM is holding China accountable for its disregard of the very trade rules it has agreed to follow. Rather than handing over the keys to the industry, CASM has decided to take a stand and defend US innovation, industry and jobs."

A person responsible for legal affairs at the China Chamber of Commerce said the US is likely to pass a bill to prevent foreign countries dumping products into its market. Industry insiders in China estimate that the US may enact further anti-dumping and countervailing duties legislation to offset China's hi-tech industries.
An analyst from the China Chamber of Commerce said it is very clear that recently the US is focusing on intellectual property, the exchange rate mechanism, government subsidies and state-owned companies.
