The United States Department of Commence has postponed the release of the outcome of the anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations into Chinese-made solar cells. That decision was due to be released on Friday.
This is the third time the U.S. has postponed the release of such decisions, after seven U.S. solar product makers filed a probe application last November.
In a letter to a CCTV correspondent explaining the decision, officials said the due date for the determination will be extended to no later than 130 days. He cited the complexity of the case for the delay. This is the first time the United States has taken this kind of action against Chinese new energy products.
If the claim is upheld, Chinese companies will face a total of 20 hundred million dollars in penalties, for its solar products exported to the U.S. since last December. The final determination will be published on March 25th.
