SteelOrbis - On March 25, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) decided to postpone the deadline for its final determination in the first new shipper antidumping (AD) review regarding certain steel nails from China.
The DOC said that it is not possible to complete this review by the planned deadline, April 15, 2010, extending the time limit by an additional 60 days to June 14, 2010.
As SteelOrbis previously reported, on January 15, 2010, the US DOC announced the preliminary results of this AD review against certain steel nails from China.
Following the review, which covers the period from January 23, 2008 through January 31, 2009, the DOC found that Qingdao Denarius Manufacture Co. sold subject merchandise at less than normal value. The DOC has calculated a preliminary dumping margin of 38.13 percent for the company.
Steel nails subject to the proceeding are currently classified under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) subheadings 7317.00.55, 7317.00.65 and 7317.00.75.
