US DOC announces preliminary results of AD on Indian HR

On January 11th 2010, the US Department of Commerce announced the preliminary results of its administrative review of the countervailing duty against hot rolled carbon flat steel products from India.
The review covers only one producer exporter, TATA Steel Limited, during the period from January 1st 2008 through December 31st 2008.
US DOC has preliminarily determined the net subsidy rate for TATA to be 586.43% ad valorem.
If the final results remain the same as these preliminary results, the DOC will inform US Customs and Border Protection 15 days after the date of publication of the final results.
US DOC is to make its final judgment later this year. The former CVD duty for TATA was reported as 27.22%.
