Taiwan imposes 91.58% anti-dumping tax on cement from China

Taipei, Oct. 19 (CNA) The Ministry of Finance announced Wednesday that a 91.58 percent anti-dumping tax will be imposed on some cement products from China, retroactive to May 30.
The mainland cement products to be subject to the penalty are Portland cement Type I and Type II and clinkers, the ministry said.
The tax will remain valid until May 29, 2016, the ministry added.
Cement products are the fifth category of merchandise from China to be hit with an anti-dumping tax -- a penalty imposed on suspiciously low-priced imports, to increase their price in the importing country and so protect local industries from unfair competition.
The other four Chinese products subject to the penalty are towels, footwear, Benzoyl peroxide and sodium formaldehyde sulfoxyla.
