South Korea sets anti-dumping investigation on HRC imports

South Korea has announced to review the antidumping (AD) investigation on the imports of hot rolled coils (HRC) from China and Japan, according to Korea Iron & Steel Association (KOSA),
South Korea expected to make its initial decision by the end of August of 2012.
According to data, South Korea’s imports of hot rolled coil (HRC) totaled 1.4 million tons in the first quarter of this year, surging significantly by 67% year on year.
Therefore, the South Korean local steel industry has begun to worry about the fact that the sharply surged imports would impact the local steel market for a while.
