BRUSSELS, Dec 7 (Reuters) - Russia's Economy Minister Elvira Nabiullina said on Tuesday that export duties on the country's birch wood will be lowered to 7 percent and on aspen to 5 percent when Russia joins the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
"We found a difficult compromise," said Nabiullina, who signed an agreement earlier in the day with the European Union trade commissioner formalising EU support for Russia's WTO entry bid.
Russia's export duties on timber are currently set at about 15 percent.
