Enterprises need to stand ready to benefit from EVFTA

The EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) was officially ratified by the European Parliament with 401 votes for (accounting for 63.33%) and the EVFTA dossier is being completed to be submitted to the Vietnamese President and the National Assembly (NA) for approval at the upcoming NA meeting in May. According to the progress, EVFTA may officially come into force in July this year. Time is running out and Vietnamese businesses need to be ready to overcome difficulties as well as taking advantage of the opportunities from the agreement.
Australia’s anti-dumping excuse against Indonesia is paper-thin, says WTO

On 27 January 2020, the WTO Dispute Settlement Body, made up of all WTO Members, adopted the panel report in a dispute initiated by Indonesia regarding anti-dumping measures imposed by Australia on imports of A4 copy paper from Indonesia (“Australia –A4 Copy Paper” or “DS529”). Adoption of the DS529 report, without appeal by either Australia or Indonesia, concludes a highly anticipated dispute, the implications of which go well beyond the product involved and the countries themselves.
