US raises preliminary AD duty rates on rebar imports from Mexico

According to the preliminary anti-dumping ruling of review on rebar imports from Mexico issued by the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the new anti-dumping duty rate for Deacero was 7.25%, higher than the previous 0%; that for Grupo Simec was 6.75%, higher than the previous 3.65%; that for all other Mexican rebar producers and exporters was 7.11%, compared to the previous one at 3.65%.
U.S.: New Antidumping and Countervailing Duty Petitions on Vertical Shaft Engines from China

The Coalition of American Vertical Engine Producers, on behalf of Kohler Co. and Briggs & Stratton Corporation (collectively “petitioners”), on January 15, 2020, filed antidumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) petitions on imports of vertical shaft engines between 225cc and 999cc and parts thereof from China.
US formally investigating Minh Phu for anti-dumping tax evasion

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has commenced a formal investigation to determine whether Vietnam’s leading shrimp company, Minh Phu Seafood, and its subsidiaries have evaded the antidumping duty order on certain frozen warmwater shrimp from India through its imports of shrimp into the U.S.
India: Legal platform to counter cheap imports

India is putting in place a legal platform to help small and medium enterprises, threatened by cheap imports in their fight against trade distorting practices. The commerce department is looking to constitute a panel of lawyers to provide legal guidance to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) in the area of trade remedies such as anti dumping duty, countervailing duty and safeguard measures.
