China 'dumps' radials as bias tyres

Mumbai: Imported Chinese tyres were a threat to domestic tyremakers until October last year. In November 2008, the government put radial tyres under the 'restricted imports' list and allowed only licenced players to import radials.

Ina notification released by the Department of Central Excise and Customs, Ministry of Finance, the government of India has imposed an anti- dumping duty on All Fully Drawn or Fully Oriented Yarn/Spin Draw Yarn/Flat Yarn of Polyester (non-textured and non–POY) tariff item 54024700 imported from China, Thailand and Vietnam ranging between US $112 and $527 per ton effective up to September 25, 2009.
