Kazakhstan intends to consider the issue of anti-dumping proceedings against imports of ammonium nitrate from Uzbekistan, the National Agency for Export and Investment KAZNEX INVEST under the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Kazakhstan said on Friday.
According to KazAzot, the issue of imports of ammonium nitrate by Uzbekistan's rail network is still open. In addition, permits for the transportation of the goods through the Makaaralsk district of the South Kazakhstan region is given on the basis of regulations issued by the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan.
The same procedure is required during transportation of products to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
The total demand of these two states for this product is approximately 80,000 tons per year, while transportation costs are lower than for exporting goods to EU countries.
KazAzot supplies 15, 000 tons of production to Kyrgyzstan. Exports of ammonium nitrate will increase by five times taking into account the needs of markets in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. At the same time, import of ammonium nitrate from Uzbekistan is carried out without any trade barriers.
