India levies anti-dumping tax on part imported stainless steel products

Feb. 24 MetalBiz--India government has imposed the anti-dumping tax on part of the imported stainless steel products, and the tariff ranges from U.S.$12.74 to U.S.$2,254.69 per ton, the industries cover auto, home appliance and other industries.
It is reported that India government stated that it has levied the anti-dumping tax on part of stainless steel products to protect its national industries.
India said in the statement that the anti-dumping tax is imposed on all the stainless steel products imported from April 22, 2009, aiming at protecting the domestic industries against the imported products whose price is lower than their cost.
The tariff range from U.S.$12.74 to U.S.$2,254.69 per ton, according to the kind of the products and origin place.
Currently, India produces 1.8mln tons of stainless steel per year, and two thirds are used in the domestic. The products affected by anti-dumping are mainly used in auto, home appliance industries and industrial products.
