Following the publication of a notice of impending expiry (2011/C 258/06) of the anti-dumping measures in force on imports of certain prepared or preserved sweetcorn in kernels originating in Thailand, the European Commission has received a request for a review of that decision.

This was lodged on 19 March 2012 by the Association Européenne des Transformateurs de Maïs Doux (AETMD) on behalf of Union producers representing more than 50% of the Union production of the product concerned.

The measures currently in force are a definitive anti-dumping duty imposed by Council Regulation (EC) No 682/2007.

The request is based on the grounds that the expiry of the measures would be likely to result in continuation of dumping and recurrence of injury to the Union industry.

Having determined that sufficient evidence exists to justify the initiation of an expiry review, the Commission has launched an investigation which will determine whether the expiry of the measures would be likely, or unlikely, to lead to continuation or recurrence of dumping and injury.

The usual time limits are set of which the most pressing is that importers, or representatives acting on their behalf, should make themselves known to the Commission within 15 days of 19 June 2012, the date of publication of this notice in the Official Journal.

The investigation will be concluded within 15 months of that date.
