Early warning system to avoid anti-dumping suits introduced
16/08/2010 12:00
A new early warning system of anti-dumping cases was introduced to enterprises at a seminar in Ho Chi Minh City by the Vietnam Competition Authority under the Ministry of Industry and Trade on August 11.
The system will help Vietnamese enterprises to actively avoid anti-dumping cases against their products by accessing www.canhbaosom.vn or www.earlywarning.vn.
Vietnamese exporters have met many difficulties caused by foreign anti-dumping and anti-protection lawsuits. So far, enterprises have faced 31 foreign anti-dumping and anti-protection lawsuits, many of them come from the US and EU.
The warning system will focus on these two large markets and five major export items of Vietnam: seafood, leather and footwear, garments and textiles, wooden products, and electrical wires and cables.
The system was set up under a project financed by the Danish-funded Global Competitiveness Facility (GCF).
