The Finance Ministry has extended by one more year the validity of anti-dumping duty on ‘nonyl phenol’ imported from Chinese Taipei.
The anti-dumping duty on such imports will be valid till August 21, 2013, the Revenue Department said.
Nonyl phenol is a liquid used as surfactants and also as inert ingredients in pesticide products. It is also used in flame-retardants and plasticisers.
The Revenue Department’s move follows recommendation by the Designated Authority in the Commerce Ministry to extend up to one year the validity of the duty.
On August 9, the Designated Authority had initiated a sunset review of the anti-dumping duty on nonyl phenol imports from Chinese Taipei, after an application was filed by S.I.Group India Ltd, Navi Mumbai, on behalf of the domestic industry.
