China to tax BDO from Saudi Arabia and Taiwan

Dec. 30, 2009 (China Knowledge) - China's Ministry of Commerce said in a statement that China has imposed antidumping duties on 1,4-Butanediol imported from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Taiwan effective as of Dec. 25, 2009, sources reported.
The antidumping duties range from 4.5% to 13.6%, said the MOC.
Reportedly, the MOC officially launched an investigation imports on Sep. 25, 2008 and found sufficient evidence that Taiwan and Saudi Arabia had engaged in dumping.
1,4-Butanediol, also known as BDO, is an industrial solvent and is also used in the manufacture of some types of plastics, elastic fibers and polyurethanes.
