China: India To Levy Antidumping Duties On China Telecom Gear

BEIJING (Dow Jones)--India will levy antidumping duties against some imports of Chinese-made telecommunications equipment, according to China's Ministry of Commerce.
India will levy duties of up to 236% on imports of synchronous digital hierarchy, or SDH transmission equipment, a standard technology for digital telephone networks, according to a statement dated Dec. 11 on the ministry's Web site.
Chinese telecommunications equipment maker ZTE Corp. (0763.HK) will pay duties of 236% and Huawei Technologies Co. will pay 50%, the statement said.
Officials from the two companies were not immediately available to comment.
