Practices of Trade remedy investigation of the US against Vietnam

Vietnam is not the main subject of the US in trade remedy investigations. In fact, the total number of trade remedy investigations initiated by the US against Vietnam only accounts for a small part, about 4% of the total number of cases initiated by the US. In addition, the number of cases subject to trade remedy duties is only less than 4%.

Among trade remedy measures, anti-dumping is the measure that the US uses the most on Vietnamese goods. The US started using this instrument with Vietnam in 2002 with the anti-dumping investigation on certain frozen fish fillets imported from Vietnam. Export items subject to the most anti-dumping investigation by the US is carbon steel pipes.
