China will continue to exempt certain US goods from additional punitive tariffs until April 30 next year, the Customs Tariff Commission under the State Council said in a statement on Wednesday, a move that observers called reciprocal move after the US announced similar exemptions last week.

The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) lowered anti-dumping duties on frozen tra fish (pangasius) filets from Vietnam following its latest preliminary conclusion, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

Experts from the National Economics University say that Vietnam mainly depends on a few large export markets, so when these countries fall into a crisis period, export activities will be interrupted.

The Finance Ministry of India on Monday imposed an anti-dumping duty on some Chinese steel for a period of five years, according to the official gazette of the ministry.

According to statistics from the Plant Protection Department (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), from the beginning of 2023 until now, countries importing Vietnamese agricultural products have detected and warned about more than 370 shipments (bananas, mangoes, dragon fruits, jackfruit, durian…) in 13 provinces and cities in the Southern region with violations of plant quarantine.

Vietnamese fresh durian is exported to 24 markets, and the frozen fruit to 23 markets. In the first eight months of this year, Việt Nam exported over 300,000 tonnes of fresh durian.

Việt Nam is the 13th largest tuna supplier in the UK market. The UK is currently importing a lot of fresh and frozen tuna products from Việt Nam, and it is forecast to show many positive signs in the coming months.
