The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has ended in its entirety the probe into trade remedy tax evasion on wooden cabinets imported from Vietnam, according to the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

A hearing on an anti-dumping investigation into imported brandy from the EU was held at China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) on Thursday, attended by stakeholders from 26 parties, including the EU Delegation to China, and embassies of several EU member countries including France, Spain and Italy, as well as business representatives.

China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) issued notice on Thursday, saying that investigating authorities will use a sampling method in anti-dumping probe into EU pork, while providing further details on the sampling plan and the preliminary sampling results for anti-dumping case involving pork and pig by-products from Europe.

Germany has increased the import of Vietnamese commodities in the first six months of the year in the context that it reduced imports from other markets, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs.

However, the export to Japan was down 41 per cent in volume and 53 per cent in value compared to the same period last year.

India recently initiated a probe into a sunset review of anti-subsidy duty orders placed on copper wire rods imported from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, according to details given by the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV).

The Institute for Development of Economics and Finance (INDEF) has warned that applying anti-dumping duties (BMAD) on seven imported commodities, including ceramics from China, may not strengthen the domestic industry but instead benefit countries like India and Vietnam through trade diversion.
