American companies are eager to buy from Vietnam’s shrimp market as global production declines, freight rates rise, and the year-end holiday season approaches, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP).

Along with exporting products to the United States, competent Vietnamese agencies and businesses are also making every effort in order to bring US agricultural products to the Vietnamese market.

Spanish prime minister Pedro Sánchez called on the European Commission and the rest of EU to reconsider the introduction of tariffs on electric cars (EVs) and prevent a trade war that could have damaging implications for the EU pork sector.  

PHDCCI's President, Sanjeev Agrawal, attributed this growth to rising exports of electronic goods, tea, coffee, spices, and cereal preparations, projecting continued export strength as India's supply chains grow stronger.

According to the Việt Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), in the first eight months, the seafood export value reached nearly US$6.3 billion.

Vietnamese officials and experts have stressed the need to be prepared for the enforcement of The European Union (EU)’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), the bloc’s tool to put a fair price on the carbon emitted during the production of carbon intensive goods, which took effect in October 2023.

The import-export turnover between Vietnam and China reached nearly 130.8 billion USD in the first eight months of this year, according to the latest statistics from the General Department of Customs.

The past eight months of the year witnessed two-way trade between Vietnam and the United States reach US$87.7 billion, with strong growth recorded in both exports and imports.
