Six congressmen of the US House ofRepresentatives’ Finance and Duty Committee have expressed their concerns over legalityand implementation of the Import Monitoring Programme of Textile and ApparelProducts from Vietnam.
According to the US-Vietnam Trade Council, the hearing held by the US Department of Commerce (DOC) on Vietnam-sourced apparel imports monitoring scheme will take place on April 24, at 9 am Washingtontime, or 9 pm Vietnamtime.
According to David Spooner, Assistantto Secretary of Commerce on imports issues, the US will make strong efforts to establish anapplicable, transparent and open supervision mechanism. This mechanism solelyaims to ensure that there will be no discrimination in pricing.
