Canada Slaps Preliminary Anti-Dumping Tariffs On Chinese Solar PV Products: Australia’s Dumping Probe Taking Time

Some Chinese Photo Voltaic modules producers have come at the receiving end of Canadian International Trade Tribunal, which slapped them preliminary anti-dumping and anti-subsidization tariffs. The products targeted are semi-finished as well as thin-film PV modules from 10 China-based companies. The penal tariffs range from 9 to 286 percent.

On February 11, the United States requested consultations with China regarding more than 180 central and sub-central government measures that allegedly provide export-contingent subsidies to enterprises in several industrial sectors including textiles, agriculture, medical products, light industry, special chemical engineering, new materials, and hardware and building materials. A request for consultations is the first step in the formal dispute settlement process at the World Trade Organization (WTO).

NEW DELHI, MARCH 9: India has managed to ward off criticism at the World Trade Organisation (WTO) for its raw sugar export subsidies by once again claiming that it has not made any payments under the programme. However, the country’s defence is unlikely to work for long as subsidy payments are slated to kick-off soon.
