India reportedly to start anti-dumping probe into PV products from China, Taiwan, Malaysia

India's Directorate General of Anti-Dumping and Allied Duties (DGAD) has informed China's embassy that it will announce an anti-dumping investigation into PV products from China, Taiwan and Malaysia, prompted by a petition by the Indian Solar Manufacturers Association (ISMA), according to China-based media reports.
If the investigation shows PV product imports from these countries have drastically increased, threatening local competitors, DGAD may quickly impose anti-dumping tariffs even without clear evidence of unfair trade practice, the reports said.
Market watchers said the fast growing PV market in India is expected to be among the global top-3 in 2017, and local PV firms have a combined market share of 10.6%.
