Aluminum Wire and Cable - The US investigates scope ruling and anti-circumvention of AD & AS duties

On October 11, 2023, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) initiated a product scope ruling investigation and an anti-circumvention investigation of anti-dumping and anti-subsidy duties on aluminum wire and cable products from Vietnam, Cambodia and South Korea.
I. Relevant information:
1. Initiation date: October 11th, 2023
2. Goods under investigation: Aluminum Wire and Cable products under HS codes 8544.49.9000 and 8544.42.9090.
3. Preliminary conclusion:
On July 31, 2024, USDOC issued a preliminary conclusion:
- Regarding product scope: Vietnamese products are not subject to the anti-dumping duty order
- Regarding anti-avoidance investigation: affirming that Vietnam has evaded anti-dumping duties that the United States is applying to imported goods from China
