Now, exporters highly appreciate the quality and the prestige of Vietnam’s wooden furniture. Vietnam’s wooden products have been in 120 nations and territories all over the world but main markets are the US, the EU, Japan, China, South Korea, Australia, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.

In July 2007, Vietnam exported wooden products with the total value of 200 million US Dollar, a 37% increase compared with July 2006. In general, the first seven months of 2007, Vietnam’s export turn-over reached 1,334 million US Dollar, a 25.1% improvement in comparison with year on year.

In order to improve competitiveness against the considerably high pressure on quality standards and design of wooden products, Vietnam’s companies have to stop doing small retail business to satisfy substantial orders. They also have to try their best to improve the product quality, follow correctly the process of quality control and cross the increasingly close technical barriers in integration environment. At that time, the key factors in customer’s decision on choosing a processed-wood product are not only its quality or its design but also the origin of the material that the product is made from. FSC Certification (Forest Stewardship Council Certification) in processing wood which is familiar with ISO Certification or HACCP Certification, becomes increasingly important and compulsory to exported processed-wood products, especially the outdoor ones.
