Vietnam has imposed an anti-dumping duty on polyester filament yarn imports from India, Indonesia, Malaysia and China, according to the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam at the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
This decision is part of Decision No. 2302/QDpoy-BCT, aimed at protecting domestic producers from unfair competition.
The ministry conducted a review on November 1 last year regarding the anti-dumping measures against these imports. The review confirmed the necessity of continuing these tariffs to prevent harm to local industries.
The new duties on polyester yarn imports are set at different rates for each country, at 17% for China, 54.9% for India, 60.6% for Indonesia, and 6.4% for Malaysia. These rates were determined following an investigation that began on May 12, 2023.
In accordance with Government Decree 10/2018/ND-CP, involved parties may request a review of the anti-dumping measures within 60 days before the end of the first year of the decision’s enforcement. The deadline for submitting review requests is November 1, 2024.
