With the deadline for submitting responses to the anti-dumping investigation questionnaire on coated steel products originating from China and South Korea set for August 5, 2024, many businesses have indicated that this timeline is insufficient for them to prepare the necessary information. 

Taking this reasonable concern into account, the Trade Remedies Administration under the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam has decided to extend the deadline for submitting responses to the anti-dumping investigation questionnaire for domestic manufacturers and importers.

On May 3, 2024, the Trade Remedies Administration of Vietnam officially announced the receipt of complete and valid dossiers requesting an investigation into the application of anti-dumping measures on coated steel from China and South Korea, following the opening of the receipt of dossiers from interested parties on April 19, 2024.

On June 14, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Decision No. 1535/QD-BCT on the investigation of anti-dumping measures on coated steel products from China and South Korea.

The investigated coated steel products are classified under HS codes 7210.41.11, 7210.41.12, 7210.41.19, 7210.49.11, 7210.49.14, 7210.49.15, 7210.49.16, 7210.49.17, 7210.49.18, 7210.49.19, 7210.50.00, 7210.61.11, 7210.61.12, 7210.61.19, 7210.69.11, 7210.69.12, 7210.69.19, 7210.90.10, 7210.90.90, 7212.30.11, 7212.30.12, 7212.30.13, 7212.30.14, 7212.30.19, 7212.30.90, 7212.50.13, 7212.50.14, 7212.50.19, 7212.50.23, 7212.50.24, 7212.50.29, 7212.50.93, 7212.50.94, 7212.50.99, 7212.60.11, 7212.60.12, 7212.60.19, 7212.60.91, 7212.60.99, 7225.92.90, 7226.99.11, 7226.99.91.

On June 28, 2024, the Trade Remedies Administration issued Notification No. 495/PVTM-P2 regarding the dispatch of the investigation questionnaire to domestic manufacturers and importers involved in the case. The initial deadline for submitting responses to the questionnaire for domestic manufacturers and importers was set for August 5, 2024.

Regarding the request for an extension of the response deadline, the investigating authority carefully reviewed the matter and agreed to extend the time for submitting the investigation questionnaire response by an additional 30 days for domestic manufacturers and importers. The new deadline for submitting responses will be before 17:00 on September 4, 2024. After this deadline, the investigating Administration may use available data in accordance with the law on trade remedies.

For other content, the relevant businesses are still required to follow the guidelines provided in the investigation questionnaire and Notification No. 495/PVTM-P2.
