Viet Nam’s exports to Pakistan rise 19% in 2025

In 2025, Viet Nam’s exports to Pakistan totaled US$622 million, up 19% year-on-year. In December 2025 alone, export turnover exceeded US$48 million, an increase of 5.8% from the previous month.
In December 2025, Pakistan’s economy recorded increases in industrial and agricultural production, while the Pakistani rupee appreciated slightly. Industrial output rose both year-on-year and month-on-month. However, exports declined and imports increased compared with November 2025. Foreign direct investment fell month-on-month, while foreign exchange reserves and remittances increased, and inflation continued to ease.
In the second half of 2025, Pakistan’s imports rose compared with the same period of the previous year. Several industrial sectors posted growth, notably textiles and automobiles, while petroleum products, fertilizers and sugar declined.
For the 2025-2026 winter-spring crop, the Government of Pakistan set a wheat production target of 29.68 million tonnes on 9.65 million hectares of cultivated land, and is implementing coordinated measures to ensure the timely provision of agricultural credit, certified seeds, fertilizers and mechanization support.
In the last six months of 2025, Pakistan’s agricultural exports declined sharply year-on-year, particularly rice. Textile exports rose slightly, while oil and coal exports increased significantly; industrial exports declined. On the import side, food products, machinery, transport vehicles and chemicals recorded increases, while petroleum imports edged down.
Regarding bilateral trade, in December 2025 Viet Nam’s imports from Pakistan hit more than US$15 million, down 6.8% from the previous month. For the whole of 2025, imports reached US$203 million, a drop of 38% compared with one year earlier.
