US to levy anti-dumping duties on steel imports

US authorities say they'll levy anti-dumping duties on corrosion-resistant steel from China and other parts of the world to address a glut of cheap imports.
The move follows a decision by the International Trade Commission on Friday that says steel makers in China, India, Italy, South Korea and Taiwan are exporting products to the United States at unfairly low prices.
The US will apply duties of more than 209 percent to Chinese products, and duties of 3 percent to 92 percent on imports from the rest.
It will also levy anti-subsidy duties on steel goods from China, India, Italy, and South Korea to offset what it calls inappropriate export subsidies.
China has come under criticism for massively exporting steel to avoid addressing excess capacity, dragging down prices across the industry.
The United States decided on Wednesday to impose anti-dumping duties on Chinese steel products used for auto parts.
