16/12/2008 12:00
In response to a request from Nucor Corporation, the Department of Commerce initiated an administrative review of the antidumping duty order on certain hot rolled, flat-rolled carbon quality steel products from Brazil.
As per report this review covers two manufacturer/exporters of the subject merchandise, Companhia Siderurgica Nacional and Companhia Siderurgica de Tubarao and covers the period March 1st 2007, through February 29th 2008. No interested party commented on the Department's intent to rescind this review upon determining that the parties subject to this review did not have entries during the period of review for which to assess antidumping duties.
For purposes of the order, the products covered are certain hot rolled flat rolled carbon quality steel products of a rectangular shape of a width of 0.5 inch or greater, neither clad, plated, nor coated with metal and whether or not painted, varnished or coated with plastics or other non- metallic substances, in coils regardless of thickness and in straight lengths, of a thickness less than 4.75 mm and of a width measuring at least 10 times the thickness. Universal mill plate of a thickness not less than 4.0 mm is not included within the scope of the order.
