It is reported that US Department of Commerce has ordered December 19th 2008 the continuation of the antidumping duty orders on ferrovanadium from China and South Africa.
As per report, on December 3rd 2007 the Department initiated sunset reviews of the AD orders on ferrovanadium from China and South Africa. As a result of its reviews the Department made an affirmative determination and notified the ITC of the margins likely to prevail were the orders revoked.
On November 13th 2008, the ITC determined that revocation of the AD orders on ferrovanadium from China and South Africa would likely lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury to an industry in the United States within a reasonably foreseeable time.
As a result of the determinations by the Department and the ITC, the Department ordered the continuation of the AD orders on ferrovanadium from China and South Africa. US Customs and Border Protection will continue to collect AD cash deposits at the rates in effect at the time of entry for all imports of subject merchandise. This review covers imports from all manufacturers and exporters of ferrovanadium from China and South Africa.
The effective date of continuation of these AD orders will be the date of publication in the Federal Register of this notice. The Department intends to initiate the next five year review of these orders not later than November 2013. The US started to impose AD duties on the merchandise since November 2002. Chinese exporters received duties of 13.03% to 66.71%.
