Most of import countries prescribed that as importing food stuff in general and aquatic products in particular must label fully due to the list issued by concerned authorities.

- Label must be outside of boxes or packages at the easiest place to see.

- The content of the label includes: the name of the product, origin, production place, name and address of the producer, production date, expired date, to be cooked or not, preservation measure, weight, code and bar code.

- FDA also requires clear ingredient, nutrition value printed on the label.

- Prohibition of product’s name is a new barrier of this method.

Canada, Chile and Peru made a complaint to WTO because EU allowed the name Saint Jacque be used for a kind of French arca only. The US President promulgated the Farming Security and Rural Investment Act on May 2002 or so-called H.R. 2646 Act, in which it is regulated in Clause of 10806 that only the catfish with the scientific name of Ictaluridae fed in the US can label catfish and the other ones can not. Enterprises who export catfish to the US market will suffer significant loss because they have to change their brand-name and packages. In addition, printing packages, arranging advertising, and re-promoting cost a lot of money.
