Spain to strictly control the import of tuna, skipjack tuna and poutassou

Ministry of Agri-Pisci and Aquaculture (MAPA) of Spain recently committed to reinforce the tight controlling measures over the import of tuna, skipjack tuna and poutassou.
Under the cooperation with Ministry of Maritime, General Department of Customs and Tariff, General Department of Public Health, MAPA determines to control and inspect the import aquatic products and monitor the compliance with the label regulations of related factories. Ministry of Maritime and Galicia authority also actively inspect the labeling in different stages of a comprehensive distribution system.
MAPA will associate with Ministry of Public Health and Consumer, Ministry of Economics and Finance to maintain the tight control and inspection on tuna fish.
Concurrently, Ministry of Maritime will apply tighter controlling measures over the fishing boats which provide skipjack tuna for canned food processing factories so that the legal source of supplying of fishery will be met by using responsible fishing methods.
