According to Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Processors (VASEP) Russian food safety inspectors from Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (VPSS) has completed a 10- day inspection at 1 tra farming and 19 fish processing companies in Vietnam.
In Ben Tre’s aquatic farming, Russian inspectors highly appreciated fisheries breeding procedures, water treatment in fisheries ponds and the high quality control over fish raising procedures.
VPSS inspectors also showed their satisfaction about local fishery hygiene and safety quality control of seafood processing companies, recognizing that Vietnam has strictly responded to their warning in March this year.
In the near future, Nafiquaved (Vietnam Ministry of Fisheries) and the Russian agency would sign a deal soon to pave the way for Vietnam's fisheries to return to Russia, particularly for catfish.
