No New US Dumping Duties For Indian Tires
22/08/2016 12:00
On August 12, the Department of Commerce (Commerce) announced that it had decided that Indian manufacturers/exporters have not sold certain new pneumatic off-the-road (OTR) tires into the United States at less than fair value.
It has therefore not set preliminary antidumping duty (AD) margins against OTR tire imports from India. The margins had been alleged at between 10.77 percent and 76.45 percent.
Commerce is scheduled to announce its final determination on or about January 4, 2017. If Commerce were then to change its opinion and make an affirmative final determination, and the US International Trade Commission (ITC) was also to take a similar decision (scheduled in February next year) that imports of new pneumatic OTR tires from India have materially injured the domestic industry, Commerce would issue an AD order.
However, if either Commerce's or the ITC's final decision is negative, no AD order will be issued.
