Mexico's economy ministry will consider increasing antidumping duties on radio guide coaxial cable imports from China after a request from a local producer.

Following an investigation, duties were introduced in August 2012 of 88% on imports from Hangzhou Chuangmei Industry and Hangzhou Risingsun Cable and 346% on imports of the cable from other Chinese exporters.

But the ministry has agreed to review the duties following a petition by Mexican electrical manufacturer Conductores Monterrey this August. The company argues that the duties must be increased to reflect the current margin of price discrimination, which it claims is greater than at the time the tariffs were calculated.

The revision of the duties will be based on trade from September 2012 to May 2013, according to an announcement published on the Mexican official federal diary's website.
