India to probe circumvention of anti-dumping duty on imports of axle for trailers from China

India has initiated an anti-circumvention investigation to think about extension of present anti-dumping obligation on imports of axle for trailers from China.
In 2018, India had imposed an anti-dumping obligation on axle for trailers from $0.14-0.46 per kg imported from China for 5 years.
The Directorate Common of Commerce Cures on Tuesday mentioned it has obtained data from Commissioner of Customs (Imports), Nhava Sheva that the anti-dumping obligation is being circumvented because the product is being imported in semi and fully knocked down (SKD/CKD) type and thereafter being assembled.
The authority mentioned that the prima facie proof signifies circumvention of the obligation, worth addition of lower than threshold stipulated to transform components of trailer axles to axle for trailers, and Undermining of the efficacy of the anti-dumping obligation.
The interval of investigation for the investigation is FY20 and the damage interval will cowl the FY17-20.
