France and Vietnam extend agreements on economic and financial cooperation

In 2007, ADETEF (France) will do at least 35 activities (training courses, going on business for research, seminars, technical assistance) with General Department of Customs, State Treasury, General Department of Taxation and Financial Inspection (Vietnam).
On July 10th, Mr. Tran Van Ta, Vietnam’s Permanent Deputy Minister of Finance and Mr. Daniel MOREL, Chairman of ADETEF (French Republic’s Cooperation Office of the Ministry of Finance, Economics and Employment and the Ministry of Budget, Treasury and Public Administration) together signed new framework agreement on cooperation for the period from 2008 to 2010. This deal was signed at ADETEF headquarter in Paris at the witness of International Cooperation Department, General Department of Customs, and Chief Inspector of Finance of the Ministry of Finance of Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Vietnam’s Ministry of Trade and ADETEF (France) have been cooperating for nearly 15 years through various activities and projects. Two parties jointly define and implement an assisting and training program for departments under Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance.
According to this agreement, in 2007, ADETEF (France) will do at least 35 activities (training courses, going on business for research, seminars, technical assistance) with General Department of Customs, State Treasury, General Department of Taxation and Financial Inspection (Vietnam).
French-Vietnamese Economic and Financial Forum dealing with the social and economic impacts of Vietnam’s WTO accession is expected to be held in December 2007. This is an annual forum between ADETEF and Vietnam’s Government for last 7 years.
Simultaneously, ADETEF carries out two large-scale projects in Vietnam. In detail, one project is to co-ordinate the National Committee for International Economic Cooperation (NCIEC) aimed at Vietnam’s economic integration into international trade. The other is to develop the function of economic management through reforming financial management, State-owned enterprises, providing more exact information and data for public decisions, and intensifying examination of National Assembly. Three Vietnam’s organization including Academy of Finance, the General Department of Statistics and the National Assembly’s Committee for Budget and Economics co-operate to carry out this project.
