Exports to Japan reached 7.39 billion USD in first four months of 2022

In April of 2022, Vietnam's goods export turnover to Japan reached 2.01 billion USD, down by 0.07% compared to the previous month.
Generally, in the first four months of 2022, the country’s exports of goods reached 7.3 billion USD, up by 11.9% over the same period last year.
The leading item exported by the country to Japan in the first 4 months of 2022 was textile and garment products reached 1.04 billion USD, accounting for 14.1% of the export proportion. The next was machinery, equipment, tools and other spare parts with 897.4 million USD, up by 4.8%, accounting for 12.1% of export proportion.
Some items had quite high export growth to Japan in the first 4 months of 2022, increasing compared to 2021; such as chemicals increased by 70.7%; coal of all kinds increased by 416%; glass and glass products increased by 190.5%; fertilizers of all kinds increased by more than 10 times.
Appreciating the potential for trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Japan, especially in relation to agricultural products and food, according to experts from Japan, Vietnam's agricultural products and foodstuffs today more and more accepted by Japanese consumers.
In order to create a push for Vietnamese agricultural products and foodstuffs to penetrate deeply into the Japanese market, the Vietnam Trade Office in Japan recommends that businesses should not only pay attention to the quality and price but also need to actively strengthen and promote strongly enhance the image and brand of Vietnamese goods.
