Saudi Arabia and China have reached a preliminary agreement to end a dispute about alleged methanol dumping by Saudi firms in China, Pan-Arab Asharq Al-Awsat reported on Sunday, citing Chinese sources.
The outcome of the discussions between the Saudi delegation from the Ministry of Commerce and Trade and their Chinese counterpart in Beijing was positive and both parties reached a preliminary agreement to end the dispute soon, the newspaper reported quoting unnamed sources.
In June, China said it had started an anti dumping investigation into methanol imported from four countries including Saudi Arabia to assess whether the material had been sold below production prices.
