Egypt's new steel tariffs in effect as of June 6: trade ministry

Temporary import tariffs imposed by Egypt on rebar steel from China, Turkey and Ukraine to protect local manufacturers came into effect on Tuesday, the Trade Ministry said on Wednesday.
The ministry announced the tariffs on Tuesday but did not say when they would come into effect. It published a decree on Wednesday saying the tariffs came into effect on June 6 and would remain in place for four months.
